How to be a cool girlfriend by Ryan Sheckler

Your mission: Don’t just win over the guy- win over his buddies too. That’s when you’re really in.

BE FLEXIBLE: “To be a cool girlfriend, pay attention to what’s going on. My friends are very drama-free, we’re spontaneous and just living off the cuff. We do everything at random. We’ll have plans for one day, that day comer up, and we’ll completely change them. Relationships about having fun, just going day to day not know what’s gonna happen. You gotta be down to ride”

GOOF OFF A LITTLE: “Just being your normal goofy self and saying dumb things that tomorrow you’ll wish you never said. That makes me feel comfortable. Like, “Okay, you’re like me too”, “Cause I say thing I think are funny, and later I’ll be like, you’re such as idiot! If you have a good, fun personality everyone’s going to want to be around you”

DON’T SIT AROUND: “Guys like to stay active, so let’s race go-karts, or see a movie and do something fun after. If I can find a girl who can go, I’m pumped! My best friend Casey’s girlfriend, Taylor, is such an active girl, and she does all the fun stuff that the guys do. She hangs out with us every day and it’s awesome, you know? It’s never awkward. She’s just cool"

SHOW YOU CARE: “When my parents were getting divorced, I was talking to this girl. It didn’t matter what I said, she always had advice. She even got advice for the form her mom! That was cool. Things like that… little things, like text messages at night… “Good night, I miss you, blah, blah, blah”- That’s good. That makes a guy feel wanted without seeming clingy or overbearing. Very cool”

His perfect girl

“Casey has so much fun with Taylor, and he truly does love her so much, I havn’t found that yet, but I’m sure it will happen”

Ryan's Friends

Taylor

Seventeen-year-old Taylor was born and raised in sunny San Clemente, Calif., which is probably why she loves to surf, snowboard and play soccer. When Taylor isn't on the beach or playing sports, you can find this high school senior hanging out with her friends, including Ryan Sheckler, or leaning on her family for support.
Taylor is currently in a serious relationship with her high school sweetheart, Casey, who is Ryan's best friend. Although Taylor is the only girl in Ryan's close-knit group of friends, she's not a girlie girl. She actually thinks that being able to keep up with the boys is one of her best characteristics!
Taylor is the rock of her group of friends, and she's often Ryan's sounding board when it comes to girls and dating. She is the person all the guys lean on and the girl all the guys want to be with. Because of that, Ryan's mom, Gretchen, wishes that Ryan could find a girl just like Taylor. Ryan always says that he's looking for Taylor's clone, and this season he just might have found her!

Casey

Already 19 years old, Casey is Ryan Sheckler's best friend and one of the oldest of Ryan's friends. Casey graduated from high school last spring and is the first of the group to head to college. He chose a school close to San Clemente, Calif., and is ready to move in with Ryan the minute Ryan buys his first home.
Casey is levelheaded, mellow and very active. When he's not in the ocean surfing or wakeboarding, you can find him skating or motocross racing with Ryan. When he's not hanging out with Ryan, Casey's usually cuddling with his girlfriend Taylor.
Although Ryan has no problem totally dominating the skate park, he often turns to Casey for advice about girls and life. Casey's a really good guy and always makes sure he's there for his best friend. Most people would describe Casey as loyal, considerate and grounded, and those qualities are exactly what make him one of Ryan's best friends.

Tony

Of all of Ryan Sheckler's friends, Tony stands out the most. He's outspoken and always wants to be the center of attention. Tony has a flair for the dramatic and he and Ryan are very competitive. Tony grew up in San Clemente, Calif., and plans to stay in Southern California for the foreseeable future. Tony is a high school senior who spends his free time skateboarding and playing basketball.
Like Ryan, Tony is a fantastic skateboarder and takes the sport seriously. He's even sponsored by Oakley and Etnies. When it comes to skating and girls, Tony and Ryan are extremely competitive. Tony's competitive nature actually makes him the perfect wingman for Ryan and has won him the label of "the flirt" of Ryan's group of friends.

Mitch
Mitch is the newest addition to Ryan Sheckler's crew. Mitch has lived in San Clemente, Calif., all his life and attended the same high school as Ryan, Tony, Taylor and Casey. He loves all sorts of outdoor activities, especially off-roading, and is an avid surfer and snowboarder. In addition to Casey, Mitch has become Ryan's go-to guy for solid, levelheaded advice on everything from business to girls.
At 19 years old, Mitch has a pretty good head on his shoulders and is a very industrious young man. He earns money by fixing up old motorcycles and selling them. He even co-founded a company that sells innovative skateboards. Mitch is currently enrolled in freshman business classes at the same college as Casey.

Family of Ryan

Gretchen Sheckler

She is the mother of the three Sheckler boys, and she also works as Ryan’s manager for his skateboarding profession. She is an expert at balancing the needs of her other younger sons, her own personal life, and helping run Ryan’s career. She regularly travels together with Ryan, and accompanies him during his numerous skateboarding promotional events and competitions. But at the same time, she ensures that his daily schedule and other responsibilities such as school are properly adhered to.

Randy Sheckler

Ryan Sheckler's father, Randy, and their mother, Gretchen, married in 1988. When Ryan, Shane and Kane were growing up, Randy could always be found videotaping the boys as they tried out new skateboarding moves in the backyard. He loved watching them learn new tricks and was really proud when Ryan's career started taking off.
Although Randy and Gretchen recently divorced after almost 18 years of marriage, Randy is still a hands-on dad who supports Ryan and his brothers in all of their endeavors. Although Randy and Ryan's relationship has been a bit rocky since the divorce, Randy plans on sticking by his son through thick and thin. Randy is a self-starter who runs multiple businesses, and it seems like he's passed that motivation and persistence along to the Sheckler boys.

Kane Sheckler

Eight-year-old Kane is Ryan and Shane's younger brother, and he is as charismatic as they come. Being the youngest of the three Sheckler boys can be rough but Kane holds his own alongside his big brothers, especially in the skate park. While Ryan and Shane are out riding their skateboards, Kane can be found zipping around on his skateboard, trying to master new tricks. Kane is fearless and definitely gives his brothers a run for their money.
Even though it's sometimes hard for Kane to keep up with Ryan and Shane, he still has a tight relationship with his two older brothers. Since Kane is so young, his parents' divorce has left him a little confused, so Ryan has made an extra effort to spend more time with him. Because of this, Kane views Ryan as a father figure and looks up to him. But unlike Shane, Kane hopes to one day follow in Ryan's footsteps.

Shane Sheckler

Shane is Ryan Sheckler's younger brother (and older brother to Kane). Like Ryan, he's a typical teenage boy who enjoys going to school, wrestling, hanging out with his friends and, yes, skateboarding in his free time.
Shane and Ryan have a really close relationship, but while Shane admires his older brother, he's made a conscious effort to not live in Ryan's enormous shadow. Shane is doing a great job as the middle brother realizing he too is a roll model for Kane.
Despite not wanting to follow in Ryan's footsteps, Shane is becoming a fantastic skater in his own right. In fact, Ryan is so impressed with his younger brother's skills that he thinks Shane has the potential to make skateboarding a career.
